
For many students, the Salisbury Summer School experience is the first extended time away from home. It is normal to feel anxious or nervous about this experience. Students compliment the intense academic work with regular physical and enrichment activities. Three afternoons a week, students participate in basketball, soccer, running, tennis, frisbee, lacrosse, squash, golf, hiking, cycling, and weightlifting. Music, modern dance, yoga, and improvisational drama are also offered each week. Many of the activities help prepare students for performances at the weekly Friday Assembly Program. On Thursday afternoons, the entire school divides up into advisor groups for a reading hour.

Students may also supplement the recreational program, at their own expense, by playing golf at nearby courses or by visiting nearby malls, and movie theatres.
